Darkness...

Its New Years Eve and I'm at my Uncle's house. Im sitting watching Ice Age with some little kids and all the sudden its PITCH BLACK. The power went out at about 7:00pm. What was my first thought???
Y2K came 11 years late and 5 hours early. Then I realized that other houses around us still had there power so I knew it wasn't the end of the world. Then I started thinking about what we do if it was out all night... would we freeze? Would we not be able to eat anything?
Anyway... half an hour later the power came back on. We just blew a few breakers.

The Holidays!!

Ok, this is going to be a long one. Are you ready to hear about all the things I worry about over the holidays this year...?
1) Grades! I get so relieved once my exams are over and the semester is done but as soon as I get the email that tells me grades are posted for my classes, I can't breath. WHAT IF I FAILED? So, with sweating hands and my heart a racin, I log in and click on grades.... But good news, I passed!!!
2) Clogged Arteries! Everyone eats so bad during the holidays... right? Christmas Eve my family just makes appetizers like devilled eggs and spring rolls and stuffed mushrooms and we just snack all day. Well I ate so much that day and when I was going to bed I was scared I WOULDN'T WAKE UP Christmas morning. And thats just the beginning of the holidays... now its New Years and Im still eating so bad.
3) Getting in a car accident! My family and drove to my Aunt and Uncle's house about 5 hours away. It started to snow about an hour into the trip. Not very bad but I was scared it would get worse. No one in my family has ever been in a car accident and me and my brother keep thinking that means we are due for one. I drove the whole way day... white knuckled, hands at 10 and 2 the entire way. We made it safely but we are still here so we still have to make it home!!! Pray for me.

Day at Court

I have a friend in law school and since I am very smart and cultured I wanted to go sit in on some court room dramas... ya know, feel the drama. We picked a morning and met up at the court house and picked a random session to sit in on. It turned out to be a sexual assault case... pretty intense! Im scared to give to many details obviously... the man saw my face when he confessed. He could come after if he found out I was spreading the news. So I think this is all I am going to say come to think of it.
Sorry if I left you hangin.

Is there a whole in my pants?

This is actually a reoccurring fear that I have every time I work. I bought new work pants a couple months ago and they are light, stretchy and make my butt look good. However, they are a little tight. Im a waitress so I move around a lot at work and bending down to pick up forks or to go containers or because I dropped my pen or whatever. Every time I bend over I panic. I am so scared that my pants will split open and my whitey tighties will be revealed to the world... or at least to the surrounding tables.
There is a mirror hanging in the back of the restaurant and I will purposely walk by it, not to check my hair or to see how hot I am but to take a quick glance at my bum to make sure there is no other colour showing but black.
You would think I could solve this problem by getting another pair of pants but these really do make my butt look amazing!!!

Is the Tim Hortons parking lot safe?

Just to warn you... some of my worries are legit, some aren't. I can't tell the difference so I'm just going to post them all.

Tonight I went to meet some friends at a Tim Hortons for some hot chocolate. The Tim Hortons was located in a sketchy part of town and I had come straight from my sisters with all my stuff including a 7 month old MacBook (the love of my life). Well I didn't want to bring my ginorme backpack into Tim Hortons so I covered it up with a scarf and a few other things lying around in my car. I only thought I was going to be an hour or so. It turned out to be two hours and every minute I was panicking that someone was breaking into my car and stealing my laptop. Every few minutes I would peak out the window (which did not have a very good view of my car anyway) to see if I could see any activity or anyone near my car.
The later it got, the more people started coming in... and not daytime people... night time construction workers. Well whats my first thought?? They are going to, or have already, stolen my computer.
I tried to wrap up the conversation but they kept talking and I could hardly sit in my seat anymore. Finally we all got up and walked to our cars and the first thing I did was check to make sure my laptop was safe and sound. Sure enough it was under all the garbage I put on top of it, exactly where I left it.
Panic Averted!!!

Introduction

I often have irrational fears about anything and everything. Astroids crashing into the earth and causing Armageddon, my pants falling down in the middle of campus, or having cancer. You name it... I have probably panicked about it before. Most people think it is very entertaining and someone suggested I should post my worries to the world to give them a good laugh, then I thought it might be a little therapeutic for me so Ill give it a try. Ill try to post something everyday (I usually panic about something everyday).
